So I’ve decided to totally redo my little website. For the last two years, I’ve been staring at my website with much disdain, thinking what an absolutely complicated boring thing with no content, and why anyone would want to look at this besides the hundreds of spammy bots I get every week. Hence the lack of updates, my last one being back in November of 2020 (geez time flies). Well, since taking a few IT classes and programming a few little projects at home, this wave of enthusiasm washed over me and led to me revisiting my website. Well let me introduce you website 2.0! (Hmm I’m kinda late, you’re already looking at it..) But with this renewed vigor, I hope to give this thing some more attention!
But let me reintroduce myself, I’m Walter and I’m an absolutely terrible writer. Compared to most kids these days, I also have no programming skills to speak of. When Yahoo Geocities was a thing, I had the chance to dabble in a little HTML and CSS but ultimately I remember none of that (ugh). But since I have this website (that I’ve already poured hundreds into) that I want to play with, I have to instead wow you with style and pizazz. I’ve always used pictures on this website to make up for my terrible writing, and I now assure you I will continue to do that because screw writing! That’s not to say my photography is any better though.
I created this website six years ago to practice my writing as well as improve my web development skills. Having poured so much time and money into this little endeavor, I’d like to say I absolutely DID NOT accomplish any of that! What a wonderful waste of money that has generated me no income in return. I’ve even tried to install Adsense into this site and well.. as you can see from the lack of ads, I’ve totally messed that up too. But what continues to drive me in maintaining this site, I love that I could have my own little part of the internet I can truly call my own, where I nearly have full domain over. None of that Finstas or Tickytocks where your UI and content is at the mercy of other web developers. This is all me. I just switched my domain from WaltaCx to ItsWalter in a spur of the moment purchase, how cool is that! How many other simpletons like me can say they have their own site? So I’ll continue to pay for and manage this for as long as I can. One day, I’ll hopefully receive another burst of inspiration and knowledge that’ll lead to me making this even better. But until then, I hope you enjoy what I’ve got here so far. Happy 2023! Here’s hoping to more content!
Side note, switching my theme has broken some posts, so bare with me as I go back and fix them..
Second side note, I gotta figure out how tf to monetize this thing.
